Meeting Joseph Pistone, the real Donnie Brasco

I am the founder of JPW Consulting Solutions and a veteran law enforcement professional with over 20 years of service. My career began shortly after 9/11, during a time when national support for law enforcement was at its peak. My first assignment placed me in a high-demand, low-income neighborhood, where I built strong relationships with community members that shaped my approach to policing and leadership.

A critical incident early in my career shifted my trajectory and led me to the Community Services Bureau. There, I developed extensive experience in community policing, program development, and public engagement. Over the years, I have served in diverse capacities including patrol, investigative services, professional standards, and community outreach.

I have proudly served as a D.A.R.E. and G.R.E.A.T. instructor, a School Resource Officer, and on the state boards of both the Wisconsin DARE Officers Association and the Wisconsin Association of Community Oriented Police, where I held roles as District Director and Vice President. I also had the privilege of supervising my agency’s Neighborhood Resource Officer Unit, helping it evolve into a recognized and trusted community program.

My dedication and service have been recognized through awards including the Law Enforcement Purple Heart and membership in the Safariland Save Club (#1594).

I am a graduate of Northwestern University’s School of Police Staff and Command and have completed advanced leadership training through the International Association of Chiefs of Police. Additionally, I hold certification in Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED), reflecting my expertise in proactive safety strategies.

Today, I bring my extensive experience in law enforcement, leadership, and community collaboration to consulting, helping organizations strengthen safety, security, and community trust.

Together with my wife, we partner through JPW Consulting Solutions to bring safety, security, compliance, and orderto the organizations we serve.
